Máméan is the site of an old Mass Rock, dating form the pre-famine era, today there is an old church and small graveyard on the site. It is located in a cól between two mountains in the Maumturk range. There is a beautiful mountain lake (Corrie or Tarn) located close to the site of the church. The walk to and from Máméan takes approx 2 hours.
